There's No Crying at the Hilton!

In March, Claire and I stayed at the Hilton while visiting Jackson, MS. Dada talked the hotel people down to a very reasonable price. This was Claire's and my first time at the Hilton, and we enjoyed every minute of it. Claire fussed a little the first night, but I simply informed her that, as in baseball, there is no crying at the Hilton. She took the hint and literally did not fuss during the rest of the stay. She slept peacefully in her pack 'n' play, ate Cheerios, and helped tip the bell hop. It was lovely.

Southern Palate

Claire has begun to assist me with my relatively new restaurant review blog, Southern Palate. She has a discerning palate and lets me know whether something needs to be praised or criticized. Evidently, the feta dip at Keifer's in Jackson, MS was to her liking.

Polka-Dotted Princess

Claire is a very particular baby. She doesn't have a nursery. She has a petite boudoir. She doesn't eat. She dines. She doesn't like bread. She likes crumpets. She doesn't want her sippy cup. She only wants her bottle. She doesn't want to sleep just anywhere. She will only sleep in her own crib. Sometimes this drives me crazy. Sometimes I remember that I'm the same way.

Nubbles

Claire started brushing her own (two) teeth at ten months. She loves the taste of her Sesame Street toothpaste, which is fluoride free and safe to swallow. She loves to rub the toothbrush against her gums. She also loves to try to brush Mommy's teeth. (This isn't going to happen.)

Fashion Show!

Claire's Grambee made some adorable clothes for Claire when she was nine months old: a silk dress, pants with hearts on the knees, a cute vest, and other items. Claire was so small for her age (10th percentile), that all the clothes were too big! I think they'll fit her perfectly in the fall.

Wave Bye Bye

Claire learned how to wave bye bye when she was almost nine months old. Soon afterwards, she started waving hello - to everyone! Check-out ladies, repairmen, old people at church, other babies... She obviously loves people! Here, she and Dada are waving Nite Nite to Mommy.
