Visiting Nashville

On Friday morning, Claire began pushing herself up into a sitting position on her own. She can now sit (no hands) for several minutes at a time. On Friday night, Claire said "ma ma" for the first time, but I don't think she was referring to me yet.

On Saturday, Mom, Larry, and Libby drove from my house to Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur, where they met John, Mr. Joseph, Claire, and me for lunch. Claire was wearing her new Swedish sweater dress and little white hood. Aunt Libber invited Claire and I to visit her in Nashville and stay at her new house. I drove with Libber and headed north, during which time Claire started to really babble in earnest, saying "mamama, thathatha, yayaya, lalala, bababa."

Libber's new house is beautiful, with high ceilings and an open floor plan downstairs. Claire is fascinated by the shag rug. Right now she is sitting in her carrier near the nice, warm fireplace. She is watching "Milo and Otis" for the first time. She has been laughing and babbling through the movie and is now watching the birth of the kittens and puppies. I am working on teaching her the signs for "dog" and "cat," even though she probably won't use these signs for a few months.
